DiscoverEU Photography and Video Competition

Take part in the DiscoverEU Contest and have a chance to win amazing prizes! The central question of our competition is: Where has #DiscoverEU taken you?

If you manage to capture in an original and creative way what you’ve explored during your travel, you could be one of our lucky winners!

How does the competition work?

The contest will run from July 9th 12.00 (CEST) to November 1st (CEST) 2018.

To take part in the contest, you must:

  • share a photo or video on your Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
  • use #DiscoverEU and #Competition
  • turn on the location of your content
  • make sure your video has a maximum duration of 15 seconds

Your photos and videos will be moderated before they are displayed on an interactive map: \link\
This may take up to 24 hours during the week, and the weekend entries will be moderated on Mondays.

If your videos and photos meet the before mentioned criteria, you’ll be in the running to become one of the DiscoverEU winners.

How will the winners be selected?

The competition is only open to the selected participants under the #DiscoverEU June application round.

The public interactions with their favourite photos and videos count! The 20 most popular entries (a combination of ‘liked’ / shared or retweeted and with comments) will go to the next round. Then, a professional jury of photography and social media experts will select the three winning photos/videos. The most visually original and creative will win.

Three lucky winners will be chosen each month, which means July, August, September and October!

The monthly winners will be contacted on Instagram and/or Twitter by ICF Mostra who is managing the prizes for this competition on behalf of the European Commission. Participants should keep an eye on their incoming messages and make sure they reply within 7 working days to the message sent by ICF Mostra. With no reply from them, another participant will be chosen as a winner. Then, the winners will be publicly announced by name on the following social media platform(s): Facebook and Twitter.

What is the winning prize?

The winners will receive a 100€ worth voucher for an online travel shop!

The winners will be announced in the beginning of each month on European Youth’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
